We feature our own Storytime readers, sometimes with surprise guests, who entertain children from newborn to age four with tales of fun and delight.

Friday, November 3rd at 11:00am: “Sing Baby Sing”
To Sing or not to Sing – That’s the Challenge. Join us with your baby, toddler or preschooler as Joy Sikorski of Sing Baby Sing™ leads us in unique interactive voice games that are used at child development centers throughout California. Explore the links between singing, speech, the voice, literacy and language as you discover how it’s possible to train your child’s voice from birth onward. Saturday, November 4th at 11:00am: “Murphy’s Safety Songs” By Tim Young
“Murphy’s Safety Songs” is a colorful book and CD set that teaches dog care and safety in a fun and catchy way. Sunday, November 5th at 11:30am: “Pilgrim Girl” By Jule Selbo And Laura Peters
“Pilgrim Girl: Diary and Recipes of her First Year in the New World” is the story of twelve-year-old Constance Godwin who, along with her family, was a passenger on the Mayflower. This intriguing diary and cookbook, written in Constance’s lively voice of the 17th Century, invites readers to glimpse the wild and untamed world of America, and meet the Native Americans who helped the Pilgrims survive and understand what it was like to be a child coming of age in 1620.

Saturday, November 11th at 3:00pm: “The Money Mammals” DVD
"The Money Mammals" is a defining specific educational DVD – teaching children about the value of money. Created by John Lanza of Snigglezoo Entertainment , The Money Mammals aims to be the source parents turn to in order to start their children’s lifelong process of learning the value of money. With music, visuals, puppets, and songs, the Money Mammals live performance will be a true Storyopolis extravaganza.

Saturday, November 18th at 11:00am: “Make A Sound And Move Around”
The Pediatric Therapy Network presents their wonderful new CD, “Make a Sound and Move Around.” Featuring a live musical performance and a “how-to” booklet for parents and children, this event appeals to toddlers and young children of all levels and abilities. Join the author, Joe Rothstein, as he introduces “Make a Sound and Move Around” for the first time at Storyopolis.

Join the mysterious Waide Riddle as he presents a special reading of his dark and haunting book, “The Chocolate Man.” With howling music, and eerie rhyming dialogue, this is the perfect event for the older kids that are prepared to be scared and have fun.

Wednesday, November 22nd at 9:00am: Storyopolis Opens the Holiday Book Bushel Season with David Shannon
Storyopolis invites you to join us in launching the Holiday Book Bushel Season with a special guest appearance from multi award- winning artist and best-selling author, David Shannon. A favorite among teachers and librarians with such titles as How Georgie Radbourn Saved Baseball, The Amazing Christmas Extravaganza, and A Bad Case of Stripes, David Shannon’s popularity skyrocketed in 1998 with the publication of his picture book No, David! which was named a Caldecott Honor Book, an ALA Notable Children's Book, and a New York Times Best Illustrated Book of the Year and has received numerous other accolades and state awards. The event will feature David reading his book, Good Boy, Fergus. KTLA Morning News will be filming the event for their morning news segment.

Saturday, November 25th at 3:00pm: Cynthia Von Buhler’s “The Cat Who Wouldn’t Come Inside.”
Cynthia Von Buhler will be live at Storyopolis with a reading and signing of her wonderful book, “The Cat Who Wouldn’t Come Inside.” This event will feature not only a reading, but also a step-by-step clay cat sculpture workshop. The workshop will provide all the sculpting materials and written instructions for those that wish to take the sculpture home for baking and painting. Come experience the amazing art and literature of Cynthia Von Buhler.
